STORY 1: One of our main targets was an automotive global account, we had to track all the high level contacts in USA, Europe and Asia to set meetings with these C level contacts. After the negotiations, we were able to include our supplier in the global approved supplier list, enabling all design and manufacturing locations to select our supplier for their projects. The first part number qualified with R&D went to mass production in a 7 years project with anual revenue of USD 1 million. Currently we are working to add more part numbers with a potential of USD 5 millions per year.
STORY 2: Our supplier lost business against the competitor by price. We contacted the customer in order to understand their corporate goals, concerns and behavior of the project. Based on this information, we negotiate with our supplier and customer an added value program that reduced the risk of the customer’s supply chain, increased their flexibility with their end customer and our supplier became into the main source for the project. This negotiation represented USD 3.5 millions in annual sales.
STORY 3: Customer was not honoring the awards despite global negotiations. Talking with them, we found our supplier was not preferred because of negative performance from previous years. We come up with an action plan for the customer where our supplier could amend their reputation and prove they were a reliable source. We focused on improve the communication channels to ensure business ran smoothly. After a few months we became sole source during 3 years of the project.
